Rethinking the Sacred Journey from Lamaist and Sufi Traditional Perspectives
Contrary to their simple and casual physical appearances, the patterns of religious rituals are complex. They are designed to arouse profound feelings in human conscience. Of these, pilgrimage is the one that reflects the human’s reach out for the sacred in a finest and most symbolic way. Even though journeying to sacred places almost entirely lost its meaning presently, because of advanced technology transportation vehicles; the pilgrimage journeys of the Lamaists today and Ibrahim Bin Adham’s in the past, although they are from different religions, remind us of this meaning again.
