FATWAS ON SUFISM IN EL-HÂVÎ Lİ’L-FETÂVÂ OF CELÂLEDDÎN SUYÛTÎ
This study examines the fatwas on Sufism in El-Hâvî Li’l-Fetâvâ of Celâleddîn Suyûtî, the sheik of Shazeli Religious Order, at a time when Memluk State started undergoing political, social and economic problems. With the aim at clarifying the fatwas further, the study first gives a short life of Celâleddîn Suyûtî and his scholarly achievement. Up until now, many studies have been conducted on Celâleddîn Suyûtî, yet these studies have not explored his view of Sufism in detail. However, this study focuses closely upon the views of Celâleddîn Suyûtî’s Sufism, along with his competency in this field. Keywords Suyûtî, el-Havî li’l-Fetevâ, listening, whirling and Fatwa
